If I ever have the opportunity, I will always visit Chartres cathedral. It is an absolutely beautiful space and I particularly enjoy looking up at the organ which seemingly sprouts from the wall. The labyrinth at Chartres is one of the cathedral's most unique features. It spreads around 40 feet across and the reasons for it coming into being are relatively unknown. One of the more humorous stories of its use is that worshippers used to run and dance around the labyrinth during the service, much to the annoyance of the clergy.
